Rime - streetwear couture in Brooklyn

Rime is an excellent new streetwear boutique that I just discovered that recently opened up in my Brooklyn neighborhood (Carroll Gardens/Boerum Hill). It's located at:
157 Smith Street
Brooklyn, NY 11201
718-797-0675
Worth investigating if you're into shops like Vinnie's Styles, Atmos etc.

Radio Board Shop: Aspen, CO

I discovered this place on a recent vacation to Colorado. Quality designer street & snowboard wear in the heart of swanky Aspen. Check it if you run in 'those' kind of circles and happen to be out there some time. Just make sure your private jet has enough space for all the gear you're likely to cop!

Norma Kamali Spring Line
I've been seeing this dress and the rest of the line it comes from in the window of the Norma Kamali store on 55th Street every day while walking to work for the past week and its giving me such a heavy 60's vibe that I had to mention it on The In Crowd. The official Norma Kamali site is blocked by Google as being unsafe to access (WTF?) so for more details, click Chickdowntown.com.

The Women's Air Max 95 Sneaker Boot

Officially known as the Air Max 95 Zen Venti boot, these are not supposed to be officially available until January but I've seen them in Brooklyn sneaker stores for the past few weeks now. They also have them in a different colorway at Finish Line and Nike has done similar boots in the style of the Vanadal sneaker and the Nike Shox.
So is this, "[t]he result of combning one of Nike's most popular running styles of all time with a high-fashion boot" or fugly like some message board chatter claims? It's definitely eye-catching at the very least....
And no, despite this post and the last one about the trend towards upscale fashionista grocery shopping bags, The In Crowd has not turned into a women's fashion blog, aight!

Eco-friendly Shopping Bags Go Upscale
"You won't find the latest eco-friendly shopping bags at your local supermarket - and the price tags are enough to make you stay home.
Ranging from $75 for Barneys "Green NYC" tote to $1,720 for Louis Vuitton's "Love" satchel, the reusable shopping bags are speeding out of high-end stores faster than a Prius with a full tank.
Not bad for a humble cotton canvas carry-all." (click here for the full article from the NY Daily News)

New store: Vinnie's Styles

Respect to Brooklyn Circus, A-life, Union, Reed Space, DQM et al. but hands down Vinnie's Styles, a new(ish) boutique located on the corner of Flatbush Ave. and Pacific Street near dowtown BK (with a second location in Bay Ridge!), is the best destination in the city if not the country for the freshest in streetwear and sneakers and it's BLACK-OWNED so go represent! And while you're in the neighborhood, walk up the block on Flatbush away from downtown and check out Silver Button too for some slightly more high-end casual wear. Now go get fresh to def!

Joe Buck's t-shirt line
Legendary De La Soul logo and album sleeve designer Joe Buck has a new t-shirt line called Artist Type. Here's some details on it:
"Artist Type is a new clothing line from Joe Buck, the cat who brought you Mic Chec Clothing (Got Beats shirt) started back in 95'. Joe is back once more to chip in on the t-shirt and apparel game. The goal is to raise the bar on creativity but most of all bring forth a line with a purpose for being other than just pushing a name. Just by taking a look at the Jay Dee shirt image you can see that it's for a reason, and in the case of the Jay Dee design, a labor of love for the loss of such a great talent. We wanted people (especially anyone who didn't know) to want to go and find out about this man, and how much he added to the game. This is the focus of Joe's designs, and the point of the apparel. To stimulate thought and to offer imagery that inspires and captivates emotion, but also tells a definitive story and exemplifies that certain piece of culture and meaning. We strive to offer Joe's talents in t-shirt and apparel design, that simulates his artwork, and is unique to his style, while offering this in wearable fashion for the discerning wearer.
A small part of Joe's background includes design for many brands such as Live Mechanics, Iqualiti Jeans, Drunknmunky, Fubu, Wille Esco, De La Soul/Spitkicker, George Clinton, Lugz, Ecko Red, Physical Science, 555 Soul, Etc.... Joe continues to freelance for Musicians, Digital types, web designers, fashion moguls, and anyone who needs help establishing their brands and identities in the culture."
