Video Preview of the forthcoming ?uestlove-produced Al Green album
I love how Al keeps saying 'corroboration' instead of 'collaboration.'
The Lay It Down album is produced by Questlove of The Roots and James Poyser of the Soulquarians and (based on the EPK above) is set to feature apperances by Anthony Hamilton, John Legend, Corrine Bailey Rae and The Dap Kings horn section.

New video: Duffy - "Mercy"
The next Amy Winehouse? This is bit too much of a pastiche for me but if you think what's been missing in music is a new Dusty Springfield, this might appeal to you.....

Video: Gnarls Barkley - "Run"
With tracks like "Run," featured in the above video, "Surprise" and "Whatever," Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo of Gnarls Barkley truly emobody the ethos of mod by blending the cutting edge, cool and soulful with classic 60's and psychedelic elements. It may not be as big as their debut St. Elsewhere album as there's no pop-sized monster hit like "Crazy," but the new album, The Odd Couple is still a crackin' good listen: both catchy and challenging with no hint of sophomore slump-itis in sight. Nice one, lads!

Norma Kamali Spring Line
I've been seeing this dress and the rest of the line it comes from in the window of the Norma Kamali store on 55th Street every day while walking to work for the past week and its giving me such a heavy 60's vibe that I had to mention it on The In Crowd. The official Norma Kamali site is blocked by Google as being unsafe to access (WTF?) so for more details, click Chickdowntown.com.

The Nike SB Italian Premium Collection

Casual meets Mod culture? I'm using references to two fashion-oriented youth subcultures that really don't exist in the form most people know them any more but I think you get my drift if you peep the gear in the photo above. I know I'm late on this but had to post it anyway: what do y'all think of this stuff?
Via Freshness Mag:
"Check out what’s good at Nike SB, they are releasing a whole new vibe…the Italian Premium Collection. I’ve always recommended guys to rock their suits and coats with hot kicks and this is what its all about. Nike SB got it right, dressing up with a pair of heat on your feet. I really like the fedora hat and the black patent Dunk Low Pro SBs." (click here for more)
