What's A One Minute Film?

medium_filminute.jpg

Answer: Everything a good film or animation should be, only in 60 seconds - no more, no less!

Yes, we're staying on the film tip for a minute... literally. Props to my man Sabaa from Toronto (though now living in London, England) who wrote me recently about an intriguing new "film" festival he's just launched:

"Filminute, the international one-minute film festival will showcase, award and promote the best one-minute films from around the world. Think of a one-minute film as just the beginning....

Selections for the Filminute site, events and exhibitions will begin this month. Submissions will be accepted for this year's festival up until August 31, 2006. The Filminute Awards will be announced in October 2006"

Check it out, not only because it should be interesting to see what kind of films this festival will unearth but also because public voting has some influence over who will eventually become award winners (unlike a certain film award show airing tomorrow night). For once your voice will be heard alongside those of the critics and other so-called experts. (Click here for more details)
